THE YOUTH SHOULD NOT BE MALIGNED!!! By DR N C VAMSHI KRISHNA

THE YOUTH SHOULD NOT BE MALIGNED!!!

We are living in times unprecedented and unpredictable as the value and sacrament we place on life and Humanity in general begins to waver.

The "system" is shattered and with the aging megalomaniacs confined to their ultra-secure residences, it is now the youth who are at the forefront literally.

News of a spate of deaths of people in their late 20s, early 30s & 40s begins to trickle most of them being the father of a newborn child, mother of a kid, only earning member of the family. The dystopia of it all begins to emerge.

The youth was long seen as an elixir, yearning for people to experiment and experience it is now this category that is in forefront of a battle against a mutant virus that wants to shatter this notion with impunity.

The youth today hold the burden of not only sustaining this fight but also bear the burden of their families having both young and old.
They need to weather this storm without any protection and yet look for a bright light in this pall of darkness and gloom.

They are the ones who have been the worst sufferers of this pandemic, while the first wave took their jobs and hope for a future the second is even more cruel it is snuffing out their lives in dozens.

Pictures of helpless families with their earning members lying on the road ironically while trying to secure beds for the aged are a scene that shows how the country and generations before them have failed them in bringing gradual and systematic reform.

They vote for a man who is 70 but seen as a youth Icon, they compete in hordes for vacancies which the system has systematically decreased over the years.

They are the face of an emerging India whose technocratic powers and the ability to jugaad has brought in the so-called resilience today sadly that picture has been shred by an aging and broken leadership. and bureaucracy with thoughts of only self-sustenance and nepotism.

The youth have nowhere to go no future, no vaccine, and most importantly no respect they are invisibilized by the system.

Yet it is they who continue to innovate, crowdsource resources using social media, social capital, and persuasion. They continue to treat every elderly as their own without reciprocation without acknowledgment as they continue to battle the systematic sidelining.

Today a doctor, teacher, policeman, a delivery boy newly recruited with fledgling dreams and with hopes of improving the system lie infected not only by the virus but the apathy of the society at large.

So before you point out a young person from your own privilege of a state-sponsored social security system and the benefit of early access. Empathize. !!!

Empathize with the youth as they battle their own demons of depression and isolation but who bravely weather the storm for their family because once they step out there is no guarantee of their return.

" Youth is the future, if the youth is lost, the future will surely be at stake !! "
